While all our machines come equipped with high-quality servo motors featuring adjustable speed controls, there are times when you need even slower operation—especially when tackling thick materials or if you're building confidence with intricate stitching. Slowing the machine down to a true crawl can make all the difference in achieving perfect results without frustration.

This is where a speed reducer comes in: a simple, yet incredibly effective device that's easy to install and transforms your machine's performance.

How It Works and Why It's a Game-Changer

Our speed reducer features a compact 45mm (1.75") pulley on the motor side and a larger 152mm (6") pulley on the handwheel side. Installed between the motor pulley and the handwheel, it dramatically reduces sewing speed by up to 70% (bringing it down to around 30% of original speed) while significantly boosting torque for more power and superior stitch control.

This extra low-speed capability is particularly recommended for heavy-duty leather sewing machines or upholstery walking foot models, where precise control over thick layers, multiple plies, or tough materials like canvas and vinyl is essential.
